About Us

Geoffrey Barnett Associates was originally formed in 1974 as the UK office of an international firm of Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, with work throughout Europe, the Middle East and USA. By the late 1970's the parent company employed over 70 staff working in eight offices in different countries including USA, UK, Italy, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Germany and the Gulf. 


During this period the practice undertook all types of international work and established a very broad range of clients including government departments, private clients, commercial enterprises and US military establishments.

By 1985 Geoffrey Barnett Associates had separated from the original group and became completely independent with offices in Godalming, about 30 miles from London and Limerick, Ireland. Since then the original client base has been broadened to extend to work in the UK and Ireland, while maintaining the established international business.


The Company now comprises a core of key professionals, all of whom have been with the company for many years, supported by experienced freelance consultants. Between them they have carried out virtually every type of project in over 20 countries during the past 30 years.

We have well developed methodologies of research, data collection and established networks of contacts that enable us to confidently take on projects in countries that we have not previously worked in.


It is the philosophy of Geoffrey Barnett Associates to remain at this size and by this means have the capability of providing efficient and cost effective services on almost any type or size of project in any location, and at the same time maintain very firm quality control with every project under the individual control and supervision of a Director.


Geoffrey has many years international experience and combines an overseeing management role with specialist expertise in construction contracts.


Overall responsibility for all cost management functions, tender document preparation, contract administration and project coordination.
